Rajasthan Monsoon Set to Strengthen, Widespread Rain Likely Till July 27

After several days of weak and patchy rainfall, activity is expected to pick up again across Rajasthan. The IMD Jaipur  has predicted a noticeable increase in rain over eastern, northern and parts of western Rajasthan during this coming week. The change is linked to the monsoon trough moving closer to its normal position. Moisture-carrying winds from the Bay of Bengal are also expected to become active over the eastern and north-eastern parts of the state, creating favourable conditions for rain in Rajasthan. Rainfall activity started increasing on July 20, in some parts of the Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions expected to receive thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rain and occasional intense showers. Light to moderate rain was also forecast at isolated places in the Kota and Bikaner divisions. The spell is likely to become stronger from July 21 and 22.
