Moti Dungri’s Ganesh Utsav brings together abhishek, special jhankis, Sinjara and the procession through old Jaipur. This article records the September 2026 programme originally covered by Beautiful Jaipur.
The dates and festival access arrangements below are for the 2026 celebration, which has ended. For a future visit, use the temple’s new announcement rather than this archived programme.

The festival programme
The nine-day programme ran from 7–15 September 2026. The opening day featured a Kalash Yatra and jalabhishek. Pushya Nakshatra abhishek was listed for 8 September, followed by the modak jhanki on 9 September.

Abhishek and modak jhanki
The programme described about 348 kg of Panchamrit for the special abhishek, alongside a banana jhanki, chhappan bhog and evening dhrupad. The modak display included large offerings of different sizes and many smaller modaks.
The original announcement listed modak darshan from 5:00 AM on 9 September, with restrictions on bringing prasad from outside that day.

Fruit, vegetable and flower displays
The programme listed a fruit jhanki on 10 September, a vegetable jhanki on 11 September and a flower jhanki on 12 September, with evening Kathak performances.
Sinjara and mehendi
Sinjara and mehendi worship were listed for 13 September. The announcement described special ornaments and clothing for Ganesh Ji, with mehendi prasad distribution from 7:30 PM at separate points.
Ganesh Chaturthi
The main celebration was listed for 14 September. The announced aartis were Mangla at 5:00 AM, Shringar at 11:30 AM, Bhog at 2:15 PM, Sandhya at 7:00 PM and Shayan at 11:40 PM, with a short afternoon closure.
Festival entry arrangements
The original plan described approaches from JLN Marg, Moti Dungri Road and Takhteshahi Road, with barricades to manage queues. These were festival arrangements and should not be treated as the normal entry plan.
The 15 September procession
The procession was announced for 4:00 PM from Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple. Its listed route passed along Moti Dungri Road, Sanganeri Gate, Johari Bazaar, Tripolia Bazaar, Chhoti Chaupar, Gangauri Bazaar, Chaugan and Brahmpuri towards Garh Ganesh.
Moti Dungri and Jaipur families
Many families come here with the first wedding invitation, a new vehicle or prayers before a new beginning. The festival brings those everyday traditions into a larger city celebration.
Planning a future visit
