What is a Lockdown? Know what public services would remain open and which will be shut during this Lockdown period in Rajasthan.

The total number of cases of Covid-19 has reached 415 today. Till now 7 people have lost their lives due to Coronavirus in India.

From all over the country new cases for Coronavirus are coming up. Keeping the current scenario in mind 22 states and 75 districts have declared a Lockdown.

A lockdown is an emergency situation wherein people are restricted from leaving a given area. A complete lockdown means one must stay where he is. This scenario usually allows for essential supplies of grocery,medicines,etc., to serve the people.

In present time, India is not under complete shutdown. However several travel restrictions have been imposed on some states and public places have been shut till further notice. Railways, Roadways (Buses and cabs) have been suspended throughout the country.

According to Epidemic Disease Act 1897 government can take any decisions to fight against the epidemic for the welfare of its people.

Citizens in return have to abide by the decision of government because one person’s negligence can hamper the lives of thousands. It’s better to keep precautions and do what the government is saying.

In a Lockdown state:

All the offices, malls, theatres, shops, religious places remain shut.

People can not make a group of more than four.

No programs will be entertained in a Lockdown state.

All public transport services are barred. Most important everyone is told to stay safe at home and not come out until and unless there’s an emergency.

During a lockdown, the Govt confirms the following services remain active:

Hospitals & pharmacies, Groceries/fruit/veg shops, Milk supply booths, Cooking gas supplies, Bank/ATMs, Telecom services, E-commerce, Limited public transport, Food home-delivery

Petrol pumps remain open, but by marking some places, the local administration may also close, where there will be more congestion.

  1. Police
  2. Doctor, Nurse
  3. sweeper
  4. Administrative Officer
  5. Media
  6. People who supply the required material

Use of a mask is necessary.
