Jaipur Municipal Corporation organised a Pet Carnival on Sunday as part of its campaign to make Jaipur a rabies-free city. The event brought together pet owners, animal lovers and officials, while also spreading awareness about pet registration, vaccination and responsible pet care.
The biggest attraction at the carnival was a giant pizza prepared specially for dogs. The pizza measured 32 square feet, with a length of 8 feet and a width of 4 feet. The organisers claimed that it was the world’s largest pizza made for pets, although the claim is yet to receive official recognition from a world-record organisation.
A large amount of pet-friendly ingredients was used to prepare the pizza. According to the details displayed at the event, it was made using 30 kg of whole wheat flour, 150 eggs, 300 grams of yeast, 4 kg of tomato puree and 8 kg of mozzarella cheese.
The recipe also included 1 kg each of paneer, bell pepper, broccoli and zucchini. Once the pizza was ready, it was cut into smaller pieces and packed in separate boxes. The boxes were then distributed among pet owners, who fed the pizza to their dogs.
Along with the giant pizza, the Municipal Corporation also organised an on-the-spot registration drive for pet dogs and cats. Officials claimed that more than 1,500 pets were registered in a single day, making it another major achievement for the event.
The Municipal Corporation said it would begin the process of applying for official world-record recognition for both achievements — the giant pet pizza and the large number of pet registrations completed in one day. The claims will need to be checked and approved by the concerned record authorities.
Apart from creating a fun experience for pets and their owners, the carnival also carried an important message. Officials encouraged people to get their pets registered and vaccinated on time. Proper registration helps authorities maintain pet records, while vaccination plays an important role in preventing rabies.
Through events like this, the Municipal Corporation hopes to involve more residents in its efforts to make Jaipur safer and rabies-free. 🐶🍕
